How the Visiting Process Works

Make sure your visit will be a success by carefully following these four steps.

Step 1: Getting Approved

You can only visit HCSO after you have been cleared.

Submit a BOP Request to start the background check process. After it gets evaluated, the BOP status and Visit Restrictions on your Account page will tell you which facilities you've been approved to visit.

Step 2: Setting up the Visit

Find out a time that works for you within the schedule.

How to Set up a Visit Time

You can either call ahead to scheduled your Visit Time, or set it up as a walk-in.
It's recommended to schedule ahead of time because:

Scheduled Visits have priority over Walk-in Visits.
The Resident you intend to Visit may not be available.
The Visit Limit may have already been reached, no visits will be allowed until it resets the following week.

You should be familiar with all visiting rules, regulations, and procedures before your visit.

Anyone over the age of 18 must review the visiting rules and regulations before they can visit any inmate at the Hampden County Sheriff's Office (HCSO)

Here are some Tips

Come at least 15 minutes before your Visit Time to account for check-in time and unexpected delays
Use the restroom before your Visit Time starts
Bring a valid Photo ID
Make sure you don't accidentally wear something that violates our Dress Policy
Be mindful of the Limit of Visitors per Visit and Limit of Visits per Week
